: : Well, put 'em out on the table then - I'll try to give you some evidence for the unlikeliness. This is how we progress - we make claims, back 'em up with evidence, weigh the evidence pro and con, and believe or disbelieve. So, let's play!
: Ok, I'll try to make up different theories of 'god', so here are a few.
: Maybe, god creates the universe, arranging the planets...to the minute
: detail (making it perpetually expand and all)...this god has no intrest
: in us now...
This just sounds like a term being used for the indifferent laws of the Universe - some of which we've discovered. Also, there is some evidence for the Big Bang Theory resulting in the arrangemeent of the galaxies, solar systems, suns and planets - it has more weight than the idea that a guy in th sky was playing with balls and stuff so the belief should sway in the former's direction.
If you're just using the word "god" to define what we know thus far regarding how the planets came to be - this is a bad word to use - supernaturalism is implied when using the word god.
: hmm...this is all a hologram...I would concider the maker of the hologram
: to be 'god' (all definitions)...a very detailed holagram.
Some psychologists have hypothesized that idea - that this is all a dream but hell, we've got to put a bit of stock in what we sense - We start by realizing that there is more to reality then what goes on in our mind - we use our senses to observe our surroundings and there are certain facts we can discover - we are real and we exist. A God making this all for us is probably the best idea out there but still, no evidence and therefore no belief.
: I made this world (universe we perseve)...just yesterday...to the finest detail
: your memories and all.
Ok, let's see you do it all again. Evidence - none.
: There are a few...of course there are many more...I would enjoy arguing these
: out and I'll make up some more possiblities later.
The point is you have to back up your claims with evidence and you're not doing that whereas we have evidence for an explanation to this entire universe where a god is not necessary. What belief would you think would help us survive in the cosmos?
You do have a great imagination though, write some scifi books!
